Oldcastle Meets Customer Service, Sales Efficiency, and Security Goals by Unifying all of their Configuration with Logik.io

The Challenge

Oldcastle had four objectives when reevaluating their configuration practices. They wanted to put customers first, increase their speed to market, enhance internal collaboration, and uphold enterprise security & standards. They have been driving toward a self-service quoting and configuration system to meet customer demand, but struggled to serve their customers to their standards online because of a clunky customer experience that lacked performance and 3D visualization of their custom solutions. 

Additionally, disparate configuration systems across Oldcastle created inefficiencies and bottlenecks without a clear path to unify all of the teams and data required to quote and produce customer orders. These siloes slowed the speed to market and prevented communication and collaboration across the company. 

Oldcastle also had concerns that their variety of configuration and quoting systems each had different security guarantees, leading to varying standards across the company. Oldcastle takes pride in the standards they uphold internally for security, but management and monitoring would be made immensely easier by unifying under a single secure configuration system. 

 

The Solution

Oldcastle evaluated building a custom solution to meet their configuration needs, but when they discovered Logik.io, they were able to accomplish all of their goals for a new system without the headaches of a custom build. 

Logik.io, combined with Salesforce CPQ and CDS, allow Oldcastle to configure, quote, and model all of their products with speed and performance for their internal sales team and self-service customers alike. Logik.io’s unique solving engine allows for perfect fit solution construction with guaranteed performance regardless of the complexity of the order and calculations. 

Additionally, Oldcastle has been able to seamlessly extend all of their product offerings to partner and customer channels via Logik.io’s API based architecture and headless extensibility. Customer satisfaction has improved drastically because of the power of the solving engine, combined with Logik.io’s ability to provide real time guided selling to anyone constructing a solution with Oldcastle. 

Logik.io’s ability to connect to all of Oldcastle’s other crucial data centers has also allowed the team to consolidate all of their configuration into a single solution and improved communication across teams. The sales, manufacturing, billing, and administrative teams, among others, are able to work together efficiently and avoid bottlenecks by using Logik.io and leveraging its ability to collect and disperse all order related information. BOMs are generated in Logik.io and sent to SAP for manufacturing. Other downstream data, including billing information and terms of the sale, are disseminated into other systems at the click of a button. This cross functional connectivity has erased bottlenecks between product configuration and the production team. 

The unification of their CPQ systems via Logik.io, which has intuitive set up and point and click administration, has also saved the company money and time that was previously spent maintaining multiple systems. The Oldcastle security team is also thrilled to work with Logik.io as an ISO certified company. They have become more efficient at monitoring and upholding all enterprise level security protocols because all of their efforts can be consolidated into a single system. 

Overall, Oldcastle is thrilled with Logik.io as a configuration solution. They were able to speak about their experience at Dreamforce in September of 2023, and the team has great expectations for the projected revenue increases as Logik.io continues to improve their sales process.
